I wiionder if ther ra coulbe ever be more for us to learn, and sure enough, ther eis my funniest memor is that of 20 hatching with his helmet down the waterslide and I llove d hw he always got right up there for feeding time and loved being between the siblings with that in nide.i look forwasd to the new season and cludtch next eyar. and I am lookng forward to seeing people at ATF. Pleasd have a safe summer , afll and winter, i want to see you here next yearl Happy trails to you, until we meet again
8:06 Bob1603:
My memories as a first mod include 4 things -
1. the range of emotions I would experience.
2. the impact the eagles have on people.
3. Having the classes of students joining us as well as the seniors.
4. the mod squad friendships I have made as well as with many chatters.
It has been an unforgettable year - thank you mods and thank you chatters.

ON BEHALF OF BREMER: it's been a great year ups and downs included, as nature never promises to be perfect
8:09 FaithHopeCure:
Everything about this season was memorable. From the extra cold weather and concern about the eggs hatching to 3 beautiful little bobbleheads. . From hovering & branching that was different from what we expected to 3 fledges. From difficulties after fledge to where we are now with “Four” in eagle college and “Soar” doing well as his fractured wing heals. We have reconnected with old friends and made many new friends. We all laughed and cried together. We have shared the good things and the bad – and I feel we are stronger for it. What will next season bring? I think we have all learned that can’t be predicted, so we will have to tune in and find out. Thank you to the best chatters on the net for being here with us through thick and thin. We look forward to seeing you right back here next season!
8:11 gardengirl1:
It has been a privilege to be a modeartor in the Decorah chat room. This year I was especially thrilled to see our amazing Mand D hatch 3 healthy eaglets in spite of weather challenges. Aren't they the best? Helping and getting to know the classrooms that visited us this year was a joy. Encouraging the next generation tolearn and lovea nature is so rewarding. I am also so glad ato have become better acquainted with so many of our wonderful chatters. You are a vital part of the RRP team! As the 2014 season closes my heart is full!
8:16 GarrisonJ:
My first part-year as a Mod has been an incredible experience for me - The friendships, the humour, the fantastic Mods I was able to learn from - but most of all, the best Chatters on the planet ! I will keep this short - my high was seeing all 3 hatch ! my low goes without saying I want to thank TW and the entire Mod Squad for a great year - and thank you Chatters - I'll never forget you !
8:18 glogdog:
No words can describe my first year here as a Moderator. Decorah is magical and so is our Chat room. It’s been a privilege to share with you all. I have fond memories of D20 loving the “stick” so much by often propping his chin up on it. Where there was “the stick”, there was D20. I also continue to marvel at our Mom & Dad. Their incubation ability, (that precise clockwork of the “changing of the guard”) never ceases to amaze me. For us humans, their love, devotion, and attentiveness is so special to experience and we thank them for that. Chatters – you are special too. Looking forward to seeing you next season where we can share our love for eagles once again!
8:21 headdoctor1:
I came in as chatter 4 months ago and leave as a mod, a position I will forever cherish. I'm leaving here with many wonderful memories, far too many to mention. What I hold dear to my heart is my new found family, the Decorah eagles, my fellow mods and you wonderful chatters, I'm a better person for knowing you all. I leave you with this - Don’t be dismayed at goodbyes, a farewell is necessary before we can meet again. <3
hummingbird2011:
Gosh it is so tough being the middle child, LOL. Having to wait my turn, LOL.
My most memorable moments this season, were as each of our beloved Decorah eggs began to hatch. I can't find the words to explain the elation that I felt, each time. I was convinced all would be well. As our babies were found, one by one after leaving the nest, and finally all accounted for, I once again rejoiced. We as a family, have all rejoiced, cried, held our breath, breathed a sigh of relief, and have still been able to smile and laugh, together. I am amazed at this wonderful place, with all of you in it. I am so blessed to be in your company. Those of you that will be at RRPATF, I can't wait to meet you. Love and hugs chatters, RRP, my fellow mods. See you next season. <3 <3 <3
8:25 izzysamlikeseagles:
Oh my goodness chatters, it has been an amazing season! I was so surprised to be asked to be a mod this season-little did I know that was just the first surprise of oh so many!! I was so surprised to learn this season just how special these eagles are, and the positive impact they have on people all over the world! And I couldn't have been more surprised when little D20 popped out of that shell-I swear I heard a little voice say "TaDaaaaahhh!" I'd have to say what has surprised me the most is what a wonderful community of people we have here-gentle kind souls one and all! I feel humbled and honored to have shared everything this season with all of you-I hope I've taught some of you even a fraction of what I have learned this season! Thank you all so much for sharing this incredible season with me, and I truly hope to chat with you all next season!!!<3
8:31 jfrancl:
One of my most memorable moments this season is a 3 part moment. That 1st pip after the Polar Vortex made me jump up and down! The 2nd pip made me jump higher! And that 3rd pip took me over the moon! I have to give all the credit to Mom and Dad for that. Their incubation attentiveness was perfect. They never missed a beat and once again have proven to us what outstanding parents they are! Another memorable moment was the hatch of D20! Not even 24 hours after hatch, that little stinker barreled to the front of the food line and didn't let its bonking siblings keep him down! I knew at that moment that mom and dad had a go getter with an unquenchable appetite, and he pretty much stayed that way throughout his life in the nest! I wish you all a happy and safe off season and looking forward to next year with you all and our Decorah Es! It's been a year to remember, the good and the not so good, but we got through it together. Everyone, Be safe, We will miss you!
8:37 JoyC32:
What a ride this season has been! As a first time mod I am honored and privileged to be in such wonderful company. This community of folks who share their knowledge and love for these amazing birds has taught me much. I think one of my most memorable moments was with the pips to hatching too and seeing those amazing little fuzzies staring up at M& D . I am thankful for each and everyone of you from chatters to mods, and how much of yourselves you share with us and one another. thank you for being here, and here's to the nest season, may it be a great one! Chatters, I would like to thank each and every one of you for sharing this amazing season with us. I still can't believe all the highs and lows that we have all been part of. Thank you RRP for sharing this eagle family with us.
8:39 lgb1126:
I feel that us mods are so very blessed to have the 'bestest' chatters in the whole world! You have made modding such a joyful experience for us. What I will remember most about this season is that our chatters helped us through some very difficult times. I would like to say THANK YOU, for you lifted us up when we needed it the most! I would also like to say "Job Well Done" to my fellow mods. You guys & girls are Terrific!! So glad we had this time together, Seems we just get started and before you know it Comes the time we have to say, "So long." (NOT GOODBYE!!) <3 <3
8:42 Oregonian1944:
My 4th year as a chatter, 1st year as a mod and what a ride it's been, full of peaks and valleys. I have a couple of memories that really stand out: First was Mom making Dad leave after food delivery with her teakettle whistle. My most memorable event this season was watching Mom and Dad do the quick switches during incubation and successfully bringing 3 new eaglets into the world. What an awesome pair they are! I believed in them then and will always belive in them. If it can be done, they will do it. A huge THANK YOU to all our wonderful chatters who have made this year so special. I'm already looking forward to next season and to new memories. Hope to meet some of you at ATF ((Hugs))

2014 had many challenges. Eggs in "The Polar Vortex" ,snow, gnats, torrential rains, and all the post-fledge drama. The eagles once again proved to be resilient. RIP D18. Fly strong D19. Get well D20. What has impressed me most this year is how chatters have stepped it up a level. Every year chatters are better informed and calmer. This year chatters took it to a new level. Exponential steps. Not that there wasn't days of worry and confusion, but the chatters here are solid and reflect well on all the nest cam sites. I am happy to have taken the journey with you all! Thanks to great chatters and a fantastic Mod crew! Raptor Nation, Decorah Strong! Stay safe. Trust Nature, Trust the Eagles. See you next season.
8:45 ThinkingWoman:
My season started the night of the polar vortex when mom or dad (I couldn't tell which) had their beak buried in feathers of the other to keep a brood patch on the eggs during the switch. It made me laugh yet it was so touching. I wish I had a nickel for everytime i thought or typed "if any one can do it, mom and dad can." With D20's helmet it was sheer joy! I do believe this is the best mod squad I have ever worked with. They never missed a beat. RRP gave us such good support this year. I can't thank them enough. and you chatters taught me something else this year. You made me a better woman who chooses words more carefully. Onwards and upwards to 2015!
