From R.R.P:
We present Four's first map!
Since 2011, our maps have taught us so much about D1's travels and have shown us far more than her annual trips to Polar Bear Park and back. With the 9,000 flight miles she has accumulated since her final fledge, we have learned about brief layovers in favorite spots in NE Iowa prior to her first year dispersal, as well as return trips to destinations in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and the routes she has traveled in what has now become an annual migration to the Hudson Bay and back. While FOUR'S map is just beginning, we'll be very curious to see if she also follows the Mississippi Flyway in dispersing, what routes she picks, and her favorite stop overs. Will her data mesh with D1 or if she will follow a completely different direction? We look forward to finding out.
D4's map can be seen on facebook.
For D1's maps, including her latest travels, the pdf maps, the cluster map, and the build your own map, follow this link: http://www.raptorresource.org/maps/latest.php
We hope to have dynamic options for Four shortly.
From S.O.A.R:
~Update on Decorah juvenile eagle admitted 22 June~
Kay reports that the eaglet still is not interested in eating on his own. Hand feeding continues... which is not a bad thing because he's also getting a mild antibiotic, always good to know the piece of meat you've hidden the anti-b in has "gone down the hatch." Antibiotics will be given for 14 days from surgery, at minimum. An x-ray recheck of the right wing will be done 2-3 weeks from surgery
